• class 1Oval Class Presentation 2019

    On Friday 5th April 2019, Oval Class took part in their annual parent/carer class presentation.

    The class were extremely excited to welcome their parents and carers in to school to showcase what they have been learning about throughout the term.

    The presentation included examples of pupils work in their different subjects, a compilation of photographs of their activities during enrichment and other subjects, demonstrations on how to use ‘paint’ and a performance of their school prayer.

    On Wednesday 27th March 2019 Headingley Class gave their class presentation. Parents & carers, family and friends were welcomed into school to see what the pupils have been working on this term.

    The pupils spoke about all of the amazing things they have done this term. They explained about the fantastic stories they have written, they gave a demonstration of the measuring skills they have learned, also talking about the different kinds of rocks they have studied.

    On Thursday 28th March 2019 the Senior Leadership Team from our German Partnership School, KBZO, were invited to GANF for a very special assembly. This year marks the 10 Year anniversary of our partnership with the school, and to celebrate this we held a tree planting ceremony.

    We would like to introduce you to our new GANF Teddy Bears. These have very kindly been made and donated by Tracy Bamber from ‘Crafty Creations by Tracy’, to support our pupils!

    Sandon and Ambergate have a teddy bear each. Both bears have different sensory aspects including different fabrics, tassles, textures and some parts of the bears make noise!



  • eChild Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Week

    Ambergate and Sandon’s most recent themed week was Child Sexual Exploitation week, which began with National Child Sexual Awareness Day on Monday 18th March 2019.

    Child Sexual Exploitation is a form of child sexual abuse. It occurs when an individual takes advantage of an imbalance of power to coerce, manipulate or deceive a child or young person under the age of 18 into sexual activity; in exchange for something the victim needs or wants, and/or for financial advantage or increased status of the perpetrator or facilitator’ (NWG Network). Read more...

    As a school, we were excited to receive an invitation to attend the eighth annual Children of Courage Awards hosted by The Rotary Club of Grantham Kesteven. The award’s purpose is to recognise children who have demonstrated courage, despite the odds, in overcoming physical, economic, social disabilities or impairment (mental or physical). Each year GANF take great pride in nominating a pupil from Ambergate and a pupil from Sandon, and this year Jon Cronin from Ambergate and Joshua Czarnecki from Sandon, were both nominated.

    On Friday 15th March both Ambergate Sports College and Sandon School took part in an ECO day.

    The theme of the day was Healthy Living.

    At Ambergate all classes took part in different ways. Pupils from Miss Morton’s Health & Social Care group have been working on Healthy Living. Miss Morton said, ‘For our part in Eco Day the pupils have decided to prepare healthy snacks to hand out to their peers during morning break. We hope to encourage the pupils to eat more healthily.     On Friday 15th March GANF celebrated Red Nose Day. All staff and pupils were invited into school wearing something red in exchange for a £1 donation to the charity.

    Red Nose Day is part of Comic Relief which is a major charity based in the UK, with a vision of a just world, free from poverty. Their mission is to drive positive change through the power of entertainment. The money you give is put towards incredible projects, in the UK and across the world, that are effectively tackling inequality and making lasting change.

    On Wednesday 20th March 2019, Wembley Class took part in their annual class presentation.

    The class were extremely excited to welcome their parents and careers in to school to showcase what they had been learning about throughout the term.

    The presentation included examples of pupils work in their different subjects, demonstrations on how to use electrical circuits and coding programmes, and finally a class performance singing a World War II song, ‘Run Rabbit Run’ which had been altered for comradery. Read more...

  • ted 2 2Trent Bridge Class Presentation 2019

    The pupils from Trent Bridge class presented their work from the current term to their parents and carers on Friday 15th March. They recited a poem called ‘What’s in the box?’ (see below) and all of the children had a toy, that matched a toy from the poem, that they then placed in the box and held up a picture of it at the same time.
