Here at GANF we have an extensive inclusion program for our pupils.
Every pupil has a fantastic opportunity to access lessons that best suit their individual needs. Many pupils from both Ambergate and Sandon have the opportunity to access lessons on either site which opens up many extra opportunities with both sites offering a variety of different qualifications and experiences. Not only that but with GANF having great links with other mainstream schools in the county there are opportunities for pupils to access mainstream provision.
Currently there are several pupils accessing lessons within St Marys school from our Sandon site this has been a great success with pupils really enjoying the experience and an improvement seen in their achievement.
There have also been previous pupils that have accessed lessons at Kings school which has allowed them to take part in high level GCSEs which was a huge success with one pupil attaining 7 GCSEs level A*-B.
Not only do we have academic links but we also have opportunities for our pupils to take part in CCF with mainstream pupils. More information on this can be seen below.
Combined Cadet Force - CCF
Aim of the CCF
“To provide a disciplined organisation in a school so that pupils may develop powers of leadership by means of training to promote the qualities of responsibility, self reliance, resourcefulness, endurance and perseverance".
As part of our inclusion with the Local Grammar School, The Kings School, over the years many of our pupils have joined The Kings School CCF, this allows our pupils to become involved in the wider community, enhancing their social skills whilst having fun.
Through support from the Kings CCF staff and staff from the Fellowship our pupils have enjoyed many weekends and weeklong camps away from home, taking part in many activities including; Drill, Shooting, Skill at Arms, map & compass, leadership Command tasks, canoeing Rock Climbing to mention but a few.
The boys from GANF are welcomed into the fold by the Kings School Pupils and Staff and are supported by a member of GANF staff who attends all activities with the boys.
