GANF’s Anita swims again….
The Rotary Club of Grantham's annual “RotarySwimarathon” is the biggest charity event in town and this month they celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Teams of up to six people swam in relays, with all proceeds going to local worthwhile causes.
We had two GANF teams taking part, one from both Ambergate and Sandon, headed up by our teaching assistants Anita Asken and Zoe Fielding. The Ambergate team was made up of pupils; Jack W, Jack W, Lucas W, Joshua F, William M and Lewis C; The Sandon team consisted of Samantha R, Ruth J, Michael R, Emily G and Freya K. Both teams swam their sponsored hour on Friday 7th.
Anita went on to swim a further 24 hours (two stints of 16 and 8 hours!) during Saturday and Sunday and was joined during her final hour by Zoe and GANF’s Vice Principal, Duncan Fielding. And if that wasn’t enough, Anita then completed a poolside race against Para Triathlon, Liz McTernan!

Well done to everyone who completed the challenge to help raise funds for The Rotary Club’s local charities and deserving causes in and around Grantham.
A record 1610 swimmers took part completing a record 36,944 lengths and raising a whopping £40,000!
