Sports Day

on .

GANF Sports Day was held this year on Friday 11th July and commenced in style with a video message to all the pupils from British Gold Medallist, Tim Baillie MBE. Tim visited Ambergate last year to officially open the new Sports Field and as it has been a full 12 months, he sent the students a good luck message for this years Sports Day!

All classes took part and competed in several events including, running, long jump, javelin and the traditional sack race (although it was noted that we need new sacks for next years games!)

All the children had a fabulous day taking part and older GANF students who are working towards their BTEC Sport qualifications were helping the younger pupils during the activities, including 15-year-old Jack Ward who said: “It is good to help the younger ones. They look up to us, and I want to go into sports coaching.”

Moreover those studying for their Pathways in Hospitality were also making the most of the day to build on their skills, serving tea, coffee and cake to parents and visitors.

As well as friends and family, the GANF students were joined by pupils from our Partnered SEN school KBZO in Obserschwaben, Germany, who are currently here on an exchange visit.

The pupils sport medals were all provided by Stuart Watts Garage Services, many thanks.
