Anyone for a cake?
Last year we piloted a new scheme to give children from each class the opportunity to show their parents and carers exactly what they are learning during their school day.
This has proved a huge success, not only with positive feedback from parents enjoying seeing what their children have been getting up to at school, but also because we have seen an increase in pupils confidence and self esteem.
This week, Parents and Carers from Trent Bridge Class, came into school to meet GANF staff and watch a performance from their child’s class. The pupils showed parents all about what they have been learning so far this term. They impressed with a presentation that included Literacy, Numeracy, Phonics, Art, ICT and PE. The whole class also performed a song. Parents were even lucky enough to walk around the classroom afterwards and browse the topic sections that their child had helped create. One section even included freshly made cakes and biscuits, made by the children, for the parents to try!
It was a wonderful morning and the parents/carers were thrilled to get an insight into the school day.
This scheme is being rolled out across the whole Fellowship and we aim to run three class presentations every half term. So look out for your child’s class presentation in the near future!
We look forward to welcoming you into school very soon…
