The Belvoir Castle Cricket Trust runs a Special Needs Cricket Programme giving youngsters the opportunity to play sport and learn skills on a regular basis.

The Programme helps to improve the lives of youngsters with learning and physical disabilities by:

  • Promoting activeness
  • Increasing self image and social skills
  • Improving cognitive skills

During February and March GANF pupils are being visited weekly by Former Cricketer and Trust Director, Darren Bricknell. Darren is coaching 'Quick Cricket' with Ambergate pupils and 'Table Top Cricket' with Sandon pupils. The programme will continue with some children being given the opportunity to take part in the Cricket and Countryside School Days at the Belvoir Estate during the summer, and participating in a post project Table Cricket Tournament.
