Jordan is 15 years old. He is a GANF student based at Ambergate in Silverstone Class.

Jordan’s Granddad is retired now but used to work as a professional Wood Carver. Last November, he decided to start teaching Jordan his craft. Jordan visits his Granddads house every other Saturday, for carving lessons and absolutely loves it.

He has carved numerous items from a dolphin to a bowl and spoon, Jordan, “Each piece can take me up to 4 hours to make. My favourite part of the process is chiselling the original shape into the wood. I’ve set up my own workshop in my shed at home now. It can be quite noisy work but we haven’t had any complaints from the neighbours just yet!”

Jordan’s Dad bought him his own lathe for Christmas because Jordan is getting so much out of wood carving. He has progressed at a phenomenal rate, producing some fabulous work after just four months of training. Jordan is now hoping to go on to College next year to study carpentry.
