GANF pupils bring joy to the elderly
National Care Home Open Day took place last Friday on 19th June and to mark the occasion Gregory House Care Home in Grantham invited GANF along and pupils from Oak Class performed for the residents throughout the morning with singing and signing!
National Care Home Open Day is about showing that care homes really can be inspiring places, full of unique, intelligent and charming characters, and run by special people that really do care.
Gregory House are determined to build friendships, to change perceptions, to create memories, and to have a fantastic day!
Carer & Event Co-ordinator Zenda Dempster, said, “This was a chance for us to showcase Gregory House so people can see what we have to offer. We invited GANF along because the residents don’t very often get to see children singing. They haven’t stopped talking about it since, the residents loved the singing but also seeing the children playing in the garden afterwards. It’s just something they don’t see often anymore. The icing on the cake came later when the children greeted the residents individually and chatted to them.”
