We Say Goodbye to our 2015 leavers
The GANF Leaver Assemblies took place in July at Ambergate and Sandon.
We say goodbye to 20 students this year, they are Ambergate pupils; Nathan B, Nicholas C,Connor D, Lewis G, Mathew G, Brandon H, Joshua L, Luke L, Callum R, Jordan S, Carl T, Joseph T, Stefan C and Jack W. Sandon pupils; Adam C, Alexandra C, James G, Joseph G, Samantha R and Harriet S. Nikita D is staying on at GANF and has joined 6th Form at Sandon.
Although emotions were running high, it was a very high spirited event! Students were given the opportunity to say a few words if they wished and staff were able to say their goodbyes. Many funny stories were told from numerous goings on over the years at GANF and much raucous laughter could be heard from the amusing banter being exchanged between teacher and student!
As with previous years, the floor was then opened up to our remaining pupils to say any goodbyes and well wishes. Those pupils that spoke were Lewis B, Joshua M, Harry F, Georgia B, all wishing their friends well on their new ventures and saying good luck at Colleges etc.
Prior to the Leavers Service at Sandon, pupils were invited to a farewell luncheon organised by our Hospitality group. This was attended by both students and staff and was followed by party games and dancing.
During the Leaver’s Service which was also attended by parent and carers, each Leaver was invited to come up and receive cards from each class along with a leaving gift. It was also an opportunity for staff and pupils to say a few words about each leaver. The service ended with the school singing our goodbye song to each Leaver as they left the service.
The Assemblies were well represented with an array of parents, carers, siblings and grandparents. Pauline Brownlow, Governor, also attended.
All pupils received their qualification certificates they had to date whilst exam results will be in August. All GANF Leavers received a 2015 pen.
