Sensory Garden Target Hit!!
It gives us great pleasure to announce that we have achieved our target of £24,000 for our new and exciting Sensory Garden Project at Sandon School!
We have received generous donations from many including the GANF Ball last year, raising a whopping £2,584!! FOSA have raised a superb £2,134 and parent and staff donations flooded in worth over £500! Also, a fantastic £800 was raised by the pupil’s themselves with their own fundraising events!
We have also been very lucky to receive a grant from The Wolfson Foundation of £19,000! A special thank you to them!
This last year has seen a phenomenal amount of team work take place and we have reached this goal together. Thank you once again to all involved.
The planned new Sensory Garden is now in the design process and soon we will be able to unveil those plans! Exciting times!
The new garden will provide alternative learning and invaluable enrichment for our pupils. Sensory Learning is an instrumental part of the learning process for special needs pupils, providing another way to learn skills through sensory interaction. The new garden will also provide easy access to disabled users, who can struggle to join in traditional play activities, making this a fully inclusive facility.
This sensory garden will be a permanent fixture at Sandon School.
Look out for more details coming soon…
