Following on from the success of our ‘Parent Presentation’ scheme last year, Silverstone Class have kicked off 2017 with a fabulous Class Presentation to Parents and Carers. Family members came into school to meet GANF staff and watch the performance put on by their child’s class.
This was an opportunity for pupils to show their parents and carers exactly what they are learning during their school day and for parents to see what their children have been getting up to at school.
The pupils spoke about their core subjects such as English and how they have been writing newspaper articles. Victoria read her article about Formula 1, to the interested audience and Jessica spoke about the inauguration of Donald Trump.
For Maths, the pupils showed parents and carers some photos of 2D and 3D shapes and discussed their official names.
For the new subjects such as Computing and Outdoor Learning, Dean presented Computing and introduced how he had been learning to program and code on a piece of software called Scratch. Dean showed an example of one he’d created within the lesson.
For Outdoor Learning, the children talked about their residential trip to Beaumanor in September 2016 and shared photos with parents and carers. Carla spoke about Enrichment and how the pupils have been going to Forest School to learn about navigation.
Two students, Jessica and Victoria are in the ACF and spoke about their recent visit on a weekend camp. They presented on how they have learned First Aid and how to present themselves during a drill exercise.
It was a wonderful morning and parents were thrilled to get an insight into the school day.
One parent said, “I am so happy to see the amount of progress my child is making at school. It is wonderful to see the children’s positive attitudes and conversations between themselves”.
Look out for your child’s class presentation coming soon!
