743Two years ago GANF opened a brand new indoor gym for its pupils, at the Ambergate Sports College site.  The project was completely fundraised for and has provided the pupils with access to regular exercise. The gym came complete with Concept II Rowers, Adapted Fusion R Cycles, Cardio Wall, and an exercise area with ceiling hung punch bag.

The children have so far had 2 years enjoyment from this wonderful facility and now they are going to use it to ‘virtually’ travel from GANF in Grantham, England, to our partner school, KBZO in Germany!

Starting on Monday 15th May through to half term break, pupils will be travelling approximately 800 ‘virtual’ miles to Germany!

swim picGANF pupils can walk, run, swim, row, anything they like (keeping a record of their distance covered). They will be using their adapted gym at Ambergate during their PE lessons and tutor times, and as a whole group we will be adding all our distances together. Who knows….we may even get further than Germany!

Regular updates of their progress will be posted on our social media pages.

This event is being arranged with fundraising in mind.  GANF are currently fundraising for the sensory rooms at both Ambergate and Sandon, so we are kindly asking parents and carers, family and friends, for sponsorship.

This is going to be a fantastic, fun event for the pupils to take part in.  They are so excited and will be having fun whilst keeping fit too!

Watch out for lots of updates coming soon…
