Four South Kesteven Council workers are walking 26 miles to raise money for FOSA!
The group consists of three local bin men, their colleague and friends, and they have decided to embark on this tremendous sponsored walk to help raise much needed funds for our new sensory rooms for pupils at GANF Schools.
The walk will take place on Saturday 24th June 2017.
David Bennington, Mick Reeves and David Leivers, along with their colleague, Amber Wakeling, will be walking 26 miles from Lincoln Cathedral to St Wulframs Church in Grantham. They will be joined on the walk by their friends and supporters Dawn Whitfield, Scott Reeves and Amie-Jo Reeves.
The walk was originally organised by David B and Mick, however, after advertising the event through social media, more and more people were eager to join the walk to help promote FOSA and GANF and help to raise the money needed.
3 years ago David L and Mick ran the Robin Hood Marathon to raise funds for FOSA so it’s fantastic that they wanted to get involved again.
David Bennington, Organiser, said, “My son has attended GANF for the last 4 years and is progressing more than I imagined. I have seen how hard the children and staff work and how important the money raised by FOSA is, which is why I decided to try and help raise some more by doing a sponsored walk”.
Scott Reeves, also taking part in the event added, “Myself and my daughters are extremely impressed with the exceptional level of education received by our good friend’s son, Joseph Bennington. At GANF he has excelled more than anyone could ever have imagined he would. Super school, super teachers and staff, they are worth every blister!”
There is a team sponsor page on BTmydonate called Feet for FOSA. For anyone wishing to sponsor the group, please follow the link https://mydonate.bt.com/teams/feetforfosa
GANF and FOSA would like to thank all the walkers and wish them all the very best on the 24th June!
Look out for an update coming soon…
