Ambergate Sports College & Sandon School have been selected as an outstanding provider of care and support to children.
Caring2Learn is an innovative research project aiming to improve outcomes for Looked After Children (LAC) and young people across the county. The study is about supporting LAC and particularly children in care, to learn in school through developing ‘caring schools’. It is one of five ‘understanding excellence’ projects within the DfE Partners in Practice programme and University College London Institute of Education, working with Lincolnshire County Council to carry out the research part of the project.
Ambergate & Sandon have been selected as an outstanding provider of care and support to all pupils including LAC. As a participant of the pilot stage of the project, both schools will share their excellent practice and promote this to other schools. This month we had the School’s Pilot where we met other education providers and foster carers. We have met with our Foster Carer Champion and look forward to creating stronger links with the wider foster carer community. We are also now gathering evidence in preparation to apply for our Caring Schools Award to celebrate the excellent provision we offer our pupils.
