The last week of term was jam packed with Christmas activities for the pupils at GANF.
On Friday 13th December we celebrated Christmas Jumper Day. Christmas Jumper Day is an annual fundraising campaign in the UK and Ireland organised by the charity, Save the Children in the UK. On a specific Friday in December, people are encouraged to make the world ‘better with a sweater’ and raise funds for Save the Children by wearing a Christmas jumper and making a minimum donation of £1. GANF staff and pupils looked so colourful in their jumpers and together we raised £171 for the charity!
Monday 16th December saw the whole school deliver their Christmas performances at St Anne’s Church, Grantham. Lower School started the day off and Upper School performances were in the afternoon. The church was filled with the pupil’s families and friends who came to show their support. Deputy Mayor Dean Ward joined us for the morning performances and Hospitality served drinks and biscuits. It was a wonderful day and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed sharing their performances with the crowds! Thank you to St Anne’s Church for hosting us.
On Tuesday 17th December the pupils were treated to a performance of Cinderella. It was this year’s offering from Polka Dot Pantomimes at the Guildhall Arts Centre. Plenty of laughs were had by staff and pupils who thoroughly enjoyed the show.
Wednesday 18th December saw a Christmas Concert performed by Andreas from Jo Jingles! Jo Jingles offers fun, interactive music, singing and movement classes for children…
With the help of their cheery mascot doll ‘Jo’ the specially trained and experienced class teachers run the most popular and established music and movement classes across the UK, Ireland and now Australia!
Lasting 30 to 45 minutes, the structured and interactive music and movement classes offer a fantastic educational activity for children.
On the last day of term, both Sandon and Ambergate staff and pupils came into school wearing their Christmas Jumpers again as it was Christmas Dinner Day!! The wonderful kitchen staff across both sites worked so hard to cook a wonderful Christmas lunch for everyone. The tables were decorated with festive items like holly table cloths and Christmas crackers and the whole school ate together!
We had a wonderful and enjoyable last week of term and we hope that you had a wonderful Christmas and wish you a very Happy New Year!
