Another Sport Relief saw GANF pupils dress up as their favourite sports stars and take part in sporting activities throughout the day on Friday 13th March.
At Sandon School, the pupils dressed up and carried out a range of sporting tasks throughout the day, with a focus on sensory activities to suit the needs of all the pupils.
Whilst at Ambergate, the aim of the day was to complete a school distance challenge by keeping all the bikes and rowing machines going strong all day long!
Each class was allocated 15 minutes during the day to access the gym or complete laps of the Astroturf to gain as much distance as they possibly could. At the end of the school day, all the distances were added together, and as a school, Ambergate travelled a total distance of 125.26 miles!
Mr Maltby, PE Lead said, “The pupils were familiar with the challenge as this was something which they were set in their PE lessons. All pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day and were keen to travel as much distance as possible within their allocated time. It was fantastic to see so many pupils dressed up as their favourite sports stars and in PE kit”.
GANF staff and pupils raised just over £100 for the Sport Relief charity.
